The CoCo SDC is a floppy disk emulator for the Tandy Color Computer (CoCo), designed by Darren Atkinson. It allows users to store CoCo disk images on an SD card and use them on their CoCo via the on-board SDC-DOS. This provides a modern storage solution for the CoCo, eliminating the need for older, potentially unreliable floppy drives or cassette recorders.

BoysonTech version of the CoCo SDC is made with ENIG PCB black solder mask with matching SDC card reader. Ours include gold plated PLCC and precision machine DIP sockets. The case is designed and manufactured by John Strong. The CoCo SDC includes the latest firmware and can be upgraded on a CoCo computer.

This is a complete unit with assembled board and case. However a SD card is not included.

Functionality:
The CoCo SDC effectively replaces the standard floppy disk controller, allowing the CoCo to access disk images stored on an SD card.

SDC-DOS:
The CoCo SDC includes SDC-DOS, a custom operating system that provides commands to mount disk images, program Flash memory, and execute ROM images from the SD card.

Features:
It supports various disk image formats, including those used by commercial software, and also supports virtual hard drive images. It also includes DriveWire disk support.

Benefits:
The CoCo SDC offers increased storage capacity, faster loading times, and improved reliability compared to traditional floppy drives. It also helps preserve vintage CoCo hardware by reducing wear on mechanical components.
